The WAYNE 1/4 HP Reinforced Thermoplastic Pool Cover Pump is a great addition to your pool maintenance. This WAPC250 automatic on/off water removal pool cover pump has a maximum flow rate of 3000 gallons per hour using a 1-1/4" drain hose. Included are a check-valve with a 3/4" garden hose adapter to reduce repetitive cycling, a 25-foot power cord (always plug into a GFCI outlet), and a 25-foot "pull to shore" rope to help position the pump on the pool cover.

The pump has a unique protection circuit to safeguard the motor from a locked impeller condition, possibly caused by debris buildup or ice formation. When a locked impeller is detected, the unit will automatically shut down to prevent motor overheating. It will then cycle on and off repeatedly to attempt to free the impeller, remaining off for 12 hours if unsuccessful, before checking again twice daily for a freed impeller. Once the pump can operate correctly, normal operation will resume.

To reset this delay without waiting 12 hours, simply unplug the pump momentarily. The water level must be at least 2-1/8" for the iSwitch technology to activate the pump, prime, and operate. Water levels below 2-1/8" will not start the pump, requiring manual activation.

This energy-efficient, oil-free pump features an easy on/off design, allowing you to plug it in and leave it unattended for worry-free water removal all winter long. The strainer base filters out debris to minimize clogging and keeps the pump from tipping over. The 25-foot power cord and 25-foot "pull-to-shore" rope facilitate positioning the pump on the pool cover. A 3/4" garden hose adapter and check valve are also included to reduce repetitive cycling.
